“I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together” (Psalm 34:1–3).
LET US EXALT HIS NAME TOGETHER
The Lord of heaven calls us together, to join in our praises of God, we are one in the Spirit.
Satan seeks to divide but the Lord desires that we join forces with him in the kingdom of light.
We pray “Our Father”. It’s a communal prayer, something that we say together. David calls out “Let us exalt his name together”. We call out to each other “come and join us”.
John the Baptist announced that Jesus was the “Lamb of God” so two of John’s disciples heard this, and they followed Jesus. Jesus looked around and saw them following. “What do you want?” he asked them. They replied, “Rabbi” (which means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?” “Come and see,” he said. It was about four o’clock in the afternoon when they went with him to the place where he was staying, and they remained with him the rest of the day.
Jesus says to us all, “Come and see”. We are all invited, for in his house there are many rooms.
The Lord has made us to be a family—the family of God.
“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!” (Ps 133:1).
We lay down our resentments, and jealousies, we push them far away, so far that they will never trouble us again. And we move forward together.
This is one of the goals we have as the church of Jesus Christ, this is what we live by. God is no respecter of persons, we are all one in Christ. We all have a part to play; we are living stones in making up the household of God, the Holy Spirit will move through each one of us as his anointing rests upon us.
We help each other grow; we comfort one another, we pray for and with one another: “Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited” (Rom 12:9–16).
This is the church of God, this is how we live, striving not with the enmity that is in the world, but striving to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
May the Lord continue to lead us on as the head of this family of God.
